Not Exactly What Pavlov Had in Mind

Because it's Monday, let's start off the week with something simple. Easy to understand. Common sensical. Downright duh.

Provide subject:

With Stimulus A:

Subject response is:

Easy enough, right? I mean, who could resist that darling little box of cupcakes, each pretty as a little picture? Not I, said the cat.

Those cupcakes are from the new shop at 71st Street and Mingo Drive, by the way - you know, Kupcakz. Maybe it's that place you've been meaning to check out. Or, it could be to where your car drives automatically during those times when you go on autopilot and can't quite explain how you traveled from one spot to another. Your mind's a blank. You remember nothing.

But your instincts are rewarded with cupcake deliciosities like Morning Buzz (rich espresso-soaked chocolate cake with mocha buttercream buzzed with French chocolate sprinkles - oh!), My Peanut Butter Cup (dark chocolate cake with creamy peanut butter frosting, chocolate splitters and toasted peanuts - OH.) and Boston Dreamer (fluffy yellow cake filled with French pastry cream and capped with bittersweet chocolate ganache - PURRRR.).

Now that's positive reinforcement.

Okay, that was fun. Let's do it again!

Provide subject:

With Stimulus B:

Sushi from Sushi Train, at 51st Street and Harvard Avenue (click for a great, fun article from the kids at The Collegian at The University of Tulsa)- sushi that the subject's female parental unit would just assume not tell anyone about, ever, so she can have it all to herself.

Subject response:

...quite unlike anything any of you have seen before, I'm sure. You can't win 'em all.

I'm having a lot of fun with this. Can you tell?

Provide subject:

With Stimulus C(upcakes - a chance to win a half-dozen of them, to be exact, each and every one from the glorious display case at Kupcakz and made fresh from the highest quality ingredients the world has to offer by Chef Doreen):

Response is: To be determined. By you, of course. Powerful feeling, isn't it? I love feeling the power of the power to empower you to feel powerful.

Eyes starting to salivate? Better win the cupcakes soon, then. How to do it? I'll tell you.

Invent a cupcake. It can be silly, it can be serious, it can be whatever you want it to be - just tell me all about what your ideal cupcake would be like. To be eligible for this giveaway, you have to be creative. Why? Because the genius behind my favorite answer will be six cupcakes fatter by the time I'm through with them.

Enter as many times as you wish by inventing cupcakes on this post, via tweet (just make sure to put @tashadoestulsa in there so I can see your entry) or my Facebook wall before 8 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 27.

I love these contests, the ones that reveal the creativity of the cupcake obsessed. Because there are so many of those. Good luck!

Fun idea! Love it. Going to have to get some cupcakes to be properly inspired though.

I'll get back to you after I have done the proper amount of research.

I love making cupcakes. I think it would be fun to make a pineapple/orange cupcake. I would think that the combination would be good then with some cream cheese icing and garnished with either a pineapple or orange slice. Mmmm mmm mmm....

Let´s see, how about a chocolate-raspberry cupcake with some citrus sprinkles. Or a rhubarb-strawberry one with creamy filling. Or a pear-cupcake with dark chocolate ganache and vanilla creme filling. Just thinking about it spikes up my sugar level!

I would like to try a s'mores cupcake it would be a dark fudge chocolate cupcake and warm fudge center, on top of the cupcake for "icing" could be a roasted melted marshmallow with a graham cracker type cookie sticking out of the marshmallow and then chocolate fudge drizzled on top of the marshmallow "icing"

Wow Katie! You need to start a cupcake store! I love your ideas! They sound amazing!!

I have to say that although I am a HUGE cupcake fan, I'm a creature of habit and LOVE my strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!
A little too much of a fan that if I won this I would not being sharing the cupcakes or rather kupcakz and that would be BAD! lol!

So for a cupcake I haven't tried or heard of as of yet, how about a chocolate cupcake made with a shot of irish cream with caramel swirls, caramel icing and a pecan on top and we'll be original and call it a Turtle cupcake! haha!

Next let's go for a chocolate cupcake with cheesecake in the middle and a caramel drizzle on top!

Ooo. . What about a monkey bread cupcake?

Okay I could go on all night, but I will stop for now!

Oh, you little minx! You now have launched thousands of your readers into their (thankfully shortened) workweek with a glazed far-way look in their eyes as they focus all concentration upon concocting the perfect fantasy cupcake. (OK, well maybe this only applies to me...) so, here goes:

My perfect fantasy cupcake would involve artfully arranged sushi in a foil cupcake liner with lots of tasty orange-colored roe on top, so I'm going to switch gears and invent a real one for my Mr.

I believe his fantasy cupcake would be devil's food cake baked with a jumbo marshmallow in the middle and topped with German Chocolate frosting. I would call it a Rocky Road Cupcake. (And now that I've invented it, I believe I now know what his Father's Day dessert will be :-) Thanks!

(Unless I win, of course! We are also huge fans of Kupcakz!)

Okay, everyone has such great ideas. Here is mine. A chocolate raspberry cake, with Lindeman's Framboise in the middle and a Chambord/Champagne frosting. Can you tell I like berries?

I am going to have to go with a Dirty Monkey cupcake!
Let's start with a chocolate cupcake infused with a bit of kahlua. Add to that some buttercream frosting mixed with fresh banana's to the top! YUM!

Awesome blog on Kupcakz, I work there as the head baker. Great ideas. Kupcakz offers a cupcake of the month, so one of your ideas could become one of our new cupcakes!

I think a Raspberry Lemonade cupcake sounds good, a lemonade flavored cupcake with a little raspberry tasting bit in the middle topped with lemonade flavor icing with raspberry drizzled over and a raspberry on top.

I hardly EVER have cupcakes, and now I'm salivating big-time! My fantasy cupcake would be a peanut butter cake, filled with dark chocolate with extra crunchy peanut butter and chocolate sprinkles on top. Served very warm!

btw, I really have to admire Anna Marie's 4th of July cupcake. Very creative and timely!

Guten Tasty - German chocolate cupcake filled with German chocolate icing topped with buttercream icing, toasted coconut and pecans

Turtle - chocolate cupcake with caramel filling topped with dark chocolate glaze and candied pecans.

S'more Please - chocolate cupcake with "toasted" marshmallows and graham cracker pieces on top.

Cheesecake - You could do a lot with this - really use any flavor cake with cheese cake filling and cream cheese icing. Topped with strawberries or raspberries.

"Snicker"doodle - milk chocolate cupcake with caramel buttercream frosting topped with Snicker pieces.

Saint or Cinner? - white cupcake with buttercream frosting sprinkled with cinnamon.

Butterfinger - butter pecan cupcake with milk chocolate frosting topped with Butterfinger pieces.

Berry Bliss - chocolate or white cupcake with raspberry filling, whipped icing and raspberries on top.

I could go on and on...

Escape (the cupcake) - do you like Pina Coladas...then you will love this cupcake.

bake in some almonds with the cake portion of the cupcake, and use a pineapple frosting topped with a cherry and orange flakes.

voila, the perfect summertime beach cupcake...er, but there aren't any beaches in Tulsa so the pool at the local Y will have to do!!!

I'd make a version of the YUMMY Brit Banoffee pudding:

a banana cupcake, infused with coffee and topped with a whipped cream cheese frosting and Heath candy bar sprinkles.

Tally Ho!
