The Search for the Best Chiles Rellenos

Chiles Rellenos

A few years ago, I began a search for Tulsa's best chiles rellenos. Last summer, after snagging an especially lovely haul of peppers from the kids at Bootstrap Farm at the Wednesday Farmers Market, I decided to expand my search to include my own kitchen.

I know it's early to be talking about the farmers' market already, but come on. I'm excited. It's officially late March and the markets open early next month. Get excited with me!

Get the recipe on my blog at Ttownmoms.com.

I judge mexican restaurants solely by their chile rellenos! Can't wait to read last years post and the recipe!

I hate the soggy, spongy ones (e.g. Senior Tequilas)!! South of the Border has good ones, as well as Ricardos. Ahh I digress.

Anyway...just found your blog the other day, Love it!

If you are ever in Owasso, try El Fogon. They make them from scratch, and she always warns me if they are hotter than normal. She says she can tell how hot they are by how her hands feel when she makes them. Great mexican food all the way around.

Ricardos has the best I have had...though Salvadors in Broken Arrow way out on 71st has really good ones too.

I know where the worst ones are: Compadres Mexican Grill at 101st and 145th in Broken Arrow. My soggy rellenos I received there have kept me from going back, although there parking lot is always full.
