What To Do in Tulsa This Weekend
As heard every Friday morning on the KRMG Morning News with Joe Kelley, here's what to do in Tulsa this weekend.
Friday, March 12
Tasha's Pick: Tulsa Gridiron (Purple headings = Arts and Theatre events)
When: Friday, 8pm; Saturday, 8pm
Where: Tulsa PAC, 110 E. Second Street
It's time to laugh at the foibles and follies of elected officials, public figures and gnarly issues, from Tulsa City Hall to the White House, from the FOP to the snowmageddon-forecasting meteorologists, from gubernatorial candidates to young blondes hawking cars, and, of course, from Twitter to Tiger. Gridiron-style, everything is set to popular songs - Broadway to Beastie Boys - high camp and big laughs. Get your tickets now - they start at $25.
Greater Tulsa Home and Garden Show (Red headings = Community events)
When: Friday, 10am-9pm; Saturday, 10am-9pm; Sunday, 10am-6pm
Where: Expo Square QuikTrip Center, 4145 E. 21st Street
Get your game on, homeowners, the 61st annual Greater Tulsa Home and Garden Show is here. Look for nearly 500 exhibitors, a stage show with Dr. Lori, a nationally renowned antiques appraiser, and a one-of-a-kind Man Cave highlighting the latest must-haves for an in-home, manly retreat. Admission is $8; kids under 12 get in free with a paid adult.
Bass Pro Shop's Free Fishing on Uncle Buck's Pond (Green headings = Stuff to do for the Kids)

Where: Bass Pro Shop in Broken Arrow, 101 Bass Pro Drive
Get a jump on the season by enjoying free catch and release fishing on Uncle Buck's pond each weekend of the Bass Pro Spring Fishing Classic! This stocked pond is great for kids and adults alike to enjoy catching fish and practicing their skills. Bring your own equipment and bait or purchase some of the inexpensive combo setups that available in the store. Don't forget to sign a release at the customer service desk prior to fishing, and release what you catch so everyone can continue to enjoy the pond.

Spring Fling at Tulsa Zoo

Where: Tulsa Zoo, 5701 E. 36th Street North
Looking for inflatables, a wall for rock climbing, arts and crafts, a dance floor and animal friends to kick off Spring Break this year? Look no further than Tulsa Zoo on the very day the kids are released from school and into the wild. Plus, look for food from 20 of Tulsa's family-friendly restaurants. 24 Works on Paper

Where: Tulsa Artists Coalition Gallery , 9 E. Brady Street
This traveling exhibit gives a good representation of the diverse range of contemporary two-dimensional work being created in Oklahoma today. Selected from among 175 entries, these 24 pieces were in a variety of media: drawings, paintings, prints, mixed media, photographs and collages. Several artists from the Tulsa area are in the show, including Eleanor Davy Carmack, Marty Coleman, Don Emrick and Christopher M. Owens.
Paco Estrada and One Love (Blue headings = Music events)

Nothing More, Rescue Signals, Mothers Anthem, First Lady Assasins and Brandon Davis perform. Tickets are $7.
Alice in Wonderland @ The Spotlight Theatre

A kid-friendly production directed by Joshua Branson Barker and Mindy Barker, who brought you The Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, Narnia, Peter Pan, and The Wizard of OZ. Tickets are $8 for kids under 12 and $10 for adults.
Best Damn Toughman

Where: SpiritBank Event Center, 10441 S. Regal Boulevard
Calling all bouncers, brawlers, body builders and hunky firemen - fighters are wanted for the Best Damn Toughman contest, an elimination boxing tournament packing more than $3,000 in cash prizes. General admission is $30.
The Immigrant

A musical about a young Jewish immigrant who fled to pogroms of Czarist Russia in 1909 and pushed his banana cart into the tiny Baptist community of Hamilton, Texas. All is sure to go smoothly. Heh. Tickets start at $30.
The Clean House

Where: Heller Theatre, 4825 S. Quaker Ave.
The Clean House is a comedy about love, the power of a good joke and the virtues of a really clean house - which, I assure you, are great. For mature audiences only, so call the babysitter now. General admission tickets are $8.
JR Brow at The Loony Bin

Grand Opening of The Electric Circus

As of this Friday night, Electric Circus, a discotheque with a New York style night club, will be downtown Tulsa's newest spot for club music - from big electro to house, drum-n-bass to classic hip hop. American Parking will provide free parking at Lot 126 (across from Dwelling spaces, next to the Murphy Garage) for the grand opening.

Think you've got talent? The Drillers are looking for talented individuals and groups to sing the Star Spangled Banner before selected games at ONEOK Field during the 2010 baseball season. While Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan declined the Drillers' offer to sit on the judging panel, Drillers' team officials have a keen ear for vocal magicians. The Drillers are positive that the best talent is right here in Tulsa; but is it you?

Route 66: The Musical

Where: Robson Performing Arts Center, 101 E. Stuart Roosa in Claremore
With hilarious characters, wild antics and good old fashioned shtick, this show promises to be a sure-fire crowd-pleaser. Route 66 features hit songs from the late 50’s and early 60’s like Dead Man’s Curve, King of the Road, Little Old Lady from Pasadena, Six Days on the Road, GTO, Fun, Fun, Fun, I Get Around and of course, Route 66. The Glenn Miller Orchestra

Borealis String Quartet with Jean-Francois Latour

The young Canadian pianist Jean-Francois Latour and the Borealis String Quartet, known for their fiery performances and passionate style, will play music by Haydn, Dvorak and Beethoven. Tickets are $25.
Donald Ryan and Trio
When: 4pm
Where: Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First Street
Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Donald Ryan brings his talented trio center stage. A consummate artist classical, jazz, ragtime, blues and pop, come enjoy this pianist, along with Arthur Thompson on drums and Jim Bates on bass. Tickets are $15.
Okies for Healing Haiti
