In case you didn't notice the last time you drove down 11th Street, the spot that formerly housed The Collective is alive again.
Now open in the space is Campus Grill, a spinoff of the Midtown, homegrown breakfast haven Brookside by Day, by BBD founder and owner Kyle Phillips.
While I haven't tried the place yet, my expectations are high. With the creators of the BBD food and atmosphere working behind the scenes to get that place off the ground, I'm confident it's going to be a hopping place.
I don't know what our crazy Oklahoma beer and liquor laws have to say about this, but since Campus Grill is hurry-up-and-waiting for its liquor license, it's conceivably possible, at least to me and my depraved little mind, to be able to order a beer with breakfast at this place.
It'd be like a dream come true: A Marshall brew with BBD-esque breakfast.
Beer wouldn't be just for breakfast at Campus Grill, though. I've heard Phillips is working out the hours of operation for the cafe - it opened just a week ago, after all - and it's looking like late night is going to be the way to go. Plus, there's the impending schedule of live entertainment.
It all sounds good. It all sounds real, real good.
And guess what. You can be one of the first to try Campus Grill, and you can try it on the house. All you gotta do is go to the comments in the post on Campus Grill at the Owasso-based blog Beach Bum Wannabe and tell the blogtista Laura about your favorite game-day food for the chance to win a $25 gift certificate to CG.
CG. Not quite as catchy as BBD, but it works for our purposes today.
Get over to Laura's before midnight tonight to be eligible for the giveaway. Good luck, and happy eating.
