The recession might have put some members of the Tulsa business community in last season’s neckties or put a hold on that man cave renovation, but one thing is for sure: No one is giving up his cigar.
There’s nothing quite like a fine cigar and scotch on the rocks at the end of a long week at the office. The taste that can range from a sweet, floral grassiness to wood and leather can put the troubles of the boardroom miles away.
Thanks to the local selection of fine cigars — who knew the Tulsa area offers nearly a dozen cigar shops and counting? — there’s no need to try one’s hand at smuggling hand-rolled Cubans or, worse, going without cigars altogether.
