Father's Day 2010 in Tulsa
Looking to show Dad a weekend on the town to celebrate all that he's done for you over the years? Here are some ideas for things to do together.
MidAmerica Ford and Team Shelby Nationals
When: Friday, 8am-9pm; Saturday, 8am-10:30pm; Sunday, 8:30am-2:30pm

Fords, families fun and, of course, lots of racing this weekend at this celebration of the all-American muscle car. Get a trade show at the Marriott Southern Hills, drag racing at Hallet and Tulsa Raceway Park and an All Ford Super Car Show starting at 8:30am on Father's Day at Marriott Southern Hills.
SalsaFest
When: Friday, 5-10pm
Where: Centennial Park at 6th and Boston Ave.
Don't miss this epic salsa-making and -tasting contest. Local restaurants and home cooks are invited to compete and see if their salsa really is award-winning. Salsa contestants will use at least one Oklahoma-grown ingredient for the public and celebrity judges (including TDT!). Look also for a pepper-eating contest, live Salsa music, Salsa dancing lessons, children's activities, local art booths and a Chihuahua costume contest and race.
Hasty Bake BBQ Competition
When: Saturday, 10am-4pm
Where: Hasty Bake, 1313 S. Lewis Ave.
Could you think of a better Father's Day gift than whisking your dad away to a BBQ competition between 30 teams, cooking demos by the likes of Chef J. Warren, samples from 3 Guys Smokin' and Siegi's Sausage Factory and a grill sale? The good news is, this weekend, you can do just that, and right here in Tulsa. Admission is free and open to the public. Look for the bloggers behind Tulsa Food Blog and Joe's Burger Search while you're there. Yum!
Tulsa Shock vs. Minnesota
When: Saturday, 7pm
Where: BOK Center, 200 N. Denver Ave.
Catch this game in the inaugural season of the Tulsa Shock, which is also the WNBA Dads and Daughters game. Tickets start at $10.
Free Popcorn for Dads
When: Father's Day, all day
Where: Circle Cinema, 12 S. Lewis Ave.
Hey, Dads - when you go see a movie at Circle Cinema today to celebrate your Dad-ness, be sure to grab a free regular popcorn.
Safari's Sanctuary Father's Day Celebration

Show Your Pops He's Tops at Tulsa Zoo
When: Father's Day, 9-5pm
Where: Tulsa Zoo, 6421 E 36th Street North
The Tulsa Zoo is giving dad's wallet a break by offering half-price admission for the whole family this Father's Day.
Father's Day at Oklahoma Aquarium
When: Father's Day, 10am-6pm
Where: Oklahoma Aquarium, 300 Aquarium Drive in Jenks
Show Dad he's your favorite fish in the sea this Father's Day. All dads get into the Aquarium free.
Free Sunday at Price Tower Museum
When: Father's Day, 12-5pm
Where: Price Tower Museum, 510 S. Dewey in Bartlesville
The Free Sunday includes free admission to the Price Tower Arts Center Gallery for Fellowship: 75 Years of Taliesin Box Projects and a special craft project for children. The hands-on activity for children will be accordion books.
Father's Day Chowdown at Living Kitchen
When: Father's Day, 12pm
Where: Living Kitchen Farm in Depew, OK
Enjoy a tour of the farm and then treat yourself to an amazing fresh farm table brunch. This Chowdown day will be a buffet lunch with local foods from the Living Kitchen Farm and other nearby farms. Have lunch, listen to music (bring your instruments if you play), tour the farm, and enjoy the beautiful setting with the fam. Cost is $8-$20 for those 13 and older and $8 for those under 13. Bring your own plates, utensils, and wine. The Living Kitchen will provide the food and non-alcoholic beverages. Reservations are required, but advanced payment is not.
Barron Ryan
When: Father's Day, 5pm
Where: Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First Street
Half of the Ryan and Ryan piano duo with his father Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame inductee Donald Ryan, Barron takes center stage on this Father's Day to showcase his amazing piano talent. Tickets start at $15.
Family FUNday Sunday and Father's Day at ONEOK Field
When: Father's Day, 6:05pm
Where: ONEOK Field, 201 N. Elgin Ave.
There's no better way to celebrate your love for Pops than hot dogs and a ballgame. Get a Father's Day Tape Measure Giveaway for the first 1,000 men through the gate, and the first 500 kids under 12 eat free. Look also for the pre-game, father-child catch on the field.
