Buy Local, Feed Hungry Kids


Here’s a tidbit for your next cocktail party: The most often shopped aisle in the grocery store is the one where paper products are shelved.

“That’s why we in the Made in Oklahoma Coalition chose paper towels to help with our fundraising initiative,” said David Brooks, regional sales manager at Shawnee Mills, an Oklahoma-based baking products manufacturer.

To celebrate Made in Oklahoma Month, which kicks off April 1, the MIO Coalition is raising money for the Food 4 Kids backpack program at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

To raise the money, the 35 members of the MIO Coalition combined their marketing funds to put images of their products, along with the big, red logo of the Coalition, on two-pack rolls of paper towels.
