Grace: I Has It

What's better than watching some of the best chefs in Tulsa create their signature dishes right before your very eyes? Local members of the media "helping" (read: flailing and trying not to get in the way of) the best chefs in Tulsa as they create their signature dishes, out in front of God and everybody.

Sunday, April 26, marks the inaugural Taste of Grace event, to benefit Grace Hospice Foundation. Starting at noon at Tulsa Historical Society, chefs from nine Tulsa restaurants will be doing their best to work their foodie magic around us bumbling media mites.

At 1 p.m., select Tulsa business and community leaders will treat attendees to a fashion show, courtesy of Compliments Boutique (81st and Lewis). Last but not least, event-goers will have the chance at several silent auction items, including art, fine food and travel packages.

Behold, the menu:

The Local Table: Cajun meatloaf and Mac and Cheese
Garlic Rose: House Salad with Apple Vinaigrette and Poached Egg
F.B. Oscar's Gastropub: Smoked Candy Salmon and Potato Latkes
Elote Cafe & Catering: Specialty Seasonal Dish
Cafe Ole: Tomato Poblano Bisque
Red Rock Canyon Grill: Buttermilk biscuits, country ham, peach poblano jam and egg hollandaise
The Melting Pot: Strawberries and Pineapple, Dessert Fondue
Edible Arrangements: Fruit Bouquets
Kaffe Bona: Specialty frozen coffee drinks and bakery desserts

Okay, I'm hungry now. Especially for that Tomato Poblano Bisque - can't wait to give that little dish a try.

While KJRH meteorologist Julie Chin will emcee the event, the following members of the media will double as servers at the Taste of Grace event:

Watch the local news stations next week for Taste of Grace chefs promoting the event: The Melting Pot on the morning show at KTUL on the 21st; F.B. Oscar's Gastropub on the noon show at KOTV, also on the 21st; Cafe Ole on the Fox 23 morning show on the 22nd; and Garlic Rose on KJRH Fun Food Friday the 24th.

If you're back and forth about whether to buy tickets because you're worried church will make you late, get the tickets already. The brunch will cruise through the noon hour, and the fashion show won't start until 1 p.m. Church goers, you officially have the green light to be late.

To get your tickets - go ahead and do it right now, because space is limited, and at $50 these babies are a steal, especially for an early Mothers Day present - send a tweet/DM to @tashadoestulsa or e-mail me at tashadoestulsa at gmail dot  com.
