Earth Day Round-Up

Still looking for stuff to do to celebrate Earth Day? Here are a few ideas. As always, if your favorite event isn't listed here, leave information in the comments and I'll add it to this post.

Celebrate Earth Day, the gardens at Philbrook Museum and spring fever, guerrilla style with Third Thursday April 16, 5-8 p.m. You'll take recycled paper, make a fantastic pulp and sprinkle in some seeds to create "seed paper" postcards. Mail them to your friends or write cover messages on them to sprout and grow. On top of that, local indie rockers Wighead will perform new songs inspired by dirt, garden gnomes and our planet earth from 6-7 p.m. Presented in conjunction with Friends of the Garden

On April 16 Ihloff Salon & Day Spa will host Refresh Tulsa, a benefit for three local green organizations. Proceeds will benefit Sustainable Tulsa, The Mayor's Green Team and Up With Trees

The benefit will be held at the Tulsa Garden Center from 6-10 p.m. The evening will include a silent auction, local artists and foods, a fashion and hair show and the opportunity to learn about other green-friendly organizations in the Tulsa area.

Tulsa's own Ihloff Salon & Day Spa has been part of this community for nearly thirty years. Recognized repeatedly as one of the fastest growing salons in the nation, Ihloff is committed to the environment, the Tulsa community and clients' well-being. More at ihloffspa.com.

Get your clean-up on at the Earth Day celebration at Chandler Park. It's April 18, 11 a.m.-noon. Enjoy music, free soft drinks and scenic Chandler Park as you help to beautify the area.
