Fourth on the Third: Win Tickets!

The 4th of July comes early to the Tulsa Community College VanTrease Performing Arts Center. It's all thanks to Signature Symphony's Fourth on the Third, a celebration of patriotic music that's sure to swell the heart of every members of the audience this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m.

This family-friendly experience of music we all know and love is no small affair. The Signature Symphony, a 63-piece professional orchestra conducted by Dr. Barry Epperley, will perform a collection of patriotic tunes, as well as a special tribute to each branch of the armed forces.

Plus, the Signature Symphony Chorale and the Signature Children's Choir will also perform.

And just think: Because this is an indoor celebration of the Independence Day holiday, you won't be dripping with sweat. And you won't be fighting your clothes as they stick with sweat in places you never knew you had. You won't even have to wear sunscreen. Plus, you can leave the first-aid kit at home, since there won't be any fireworks to burn anyone's fingers.

At least, not until Sunday.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for senior citizens and $6 for kids under 18 years old. Members of the military and their families get priority seating. To get tickets, call (918) 595-7777.

So, here's what you do. Go ahead and buy a pair of tickets for your friends. Then, head to the comments section and tell us what you love best about the 4th of July. You could be the lucky contestant to win two tickets - one for you, one for a date. And then the whole lot of you can skip happily (and patriotically) down to TCC's VanTrease PACE and enjoy yourselves a fabulous concert.

Great idea!

I'll accept entries until midnight tonight. I'll announce the winners here early tomorrow morning, so if you enter to win, be sure to be on the lookout to see just how lucky you are.

Good luck, everyone, and happy 4th!
