Calling all Tulsa Bloggers

It's been awhile since the bloggers of the Tulsa had a regular meet-up.

Today we say, enough of that.

If you've ever longed for companionship in this fragmented legion of bathrobe-wearing, coffee-drinking, pontificating warriors of the Web, meet the fine folk behind ArtofManliness.com (yes, it's based right here in Tulsa!), TulsaProject.com and the delinquents responsible for the blog you're presently reading for pizza, beer and general geek chat at Joe Momma's downtown on Feb. 4 at 7pm. Whether you're a Tulsa-based tech blogger or mommy blogger or food blogger or political blogger or whatever-pops-into-your-pretty-head blogger, one and all are welcome.

There's no program for this meeting. This isn't without reason. First, it'll be nice to just see everybody in one place, at the same time. We'll need some time to meet and greet, catch up, poke fun at each other's posts and to generally wonk out. Before the end of the evening we'll chat about what, if anything, we would want to get out of a group of regularly meeting T-Towners who really get something out of hitting that "post now" button every now and then.

Basically, we're gauging how interested Tulsa bloggers would be in taking over the world.

Anatomy of a Blogger

Because we're suited to rule the world. Obviously.

Here again are the event details:

WHO: You, the Tulsa-area blogger
WHAT: A gathering of Tulsa-area bloggers, just for fun
WHEN: Thursday, Feb. 4, 7pm
WHERE: Joe Momma's, 112 S. Elgin

Once you ink the details of this event into your calendar, be a pal and send me a quick e-mail as an RSVP. Better yet, if you're on Facebook, RSVP there (and spy on who else says they're coming, too). As always, if you have any questions or comments or good jokes, shoot me an e-mail.

If you're the man or woman behind the curtain of a blog based in the Tulsa area, please join us. It'll be fun. Plus, all of your wildest dreams will come true. And you won't have to thank anyone but yourself for the pleasure.

Hey, I have a blog. And I live in Tulsa. Hang on, I'm trying to figure out what that might mean. Give me a minute. No, wait, don't tell me!

Dear Tasha, what exactly constitutes Tulsa-area? Is it a frame of mind kinda thing? Or defined by city limits? Daylight hours spent in T-Town? Must one know all the words to Take Me Back To Tulsa or Living on Tulsa Time?

More importantly - will knitting be allowed?

I can't believe this is happening on a night when I'm already committed to be in Oklahoma City. My heart is breaking!

Seems to me that attending such a shindig might trend towards compromising one's highly prized anonymity.

You never know. I might show up incognito and keep my mouth shut.

I'm with you Man of the West - first thought was "sounds interesting" then I realized I'm too much of a hermit to attend.

Would love to come to this as I've been blogging in Tulsa for over 3 years. Will try to come - teaching a class that day, so we'll see. Thanks for the info.

Denise, Tulsa-area is however you want to define it. If South Dakota is in the Tulsa area in your mind (and it is, compared to Antarctica or somewhere) and you can make the drive in, you're more than welcome at the blog meetup.

Dammit, Carrisa. What am I going to do with you?

Man of the West, maybe you could wear a cool mask to the meetup. It'd be even better if it was homemade. With feathers. And glitter. Or, you could wear a helmet. Boss! Denise, you're creative. Help a guy out.

Celeste, where do you teach? Funny thing - I'm teaching a class of my own that day. But more on that later.

Private art lesson in my studio.

Celeste, maybe you should have a private PARTY in your studio. You know, for bloggers. I mean, bloggers who blog about things to do in Tulsa. Really, just for me. Because that would be AWESOME.

I'm looking at my calendar, but for those who value their secret identities--why don't you make up a fake blog? No,no,no I'm not with Man of the West, clearly I am the author of Pies in the Sky.

Just a suggestion and might be easier than a glittery mask, what with the weather and all.

Dang calendar! It was tonight, like past tense, and I was really looking forward to it!
Oh, well, got wrapped up with the Brigid's Grandma thing (yes, she's in a nice place now), and lost track of the schedule!
Sorry I missed you, Tulsa Bloggers!
